Mawra Hocane-starrer Sanam Teri Kasam, which initially struggled at the box office, is making a return to theatres after a significant following developed on OTT platforms, reported The Indian Express. Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film garnered much appreciation over time, and now, with a re-release, the team is hoping for a different outcome.

Mawra's role as the soulful lead brought a fresh charm to the film, capturing hearts despite the original lack of commercial success. Harshvardhan Rane, who plays the male romantic lead in the film, recently expressed his gratitude for the film's re-release.

"I hope it does what it didn't do earlier, that's it. Everyone was asking me everywhere to bring this film back," Harshvardhan said. "The only anecdote I remember is that we all were expecting this film to do much better than what it did. That void has pushed me today to request everyone to release this."

Harshvardhan also took a light-hearted approach to the trend of re-releases, using a metaphor about remarriage: "Even after parents get divorced, they get married again sometimes. As a child, I am very happy with this marriage. I am up for remarriages and re-releases." He hopes that Sanam Teri Kasam will enjoy more success this time around, similar to how films like Tumbbad and Laila Majnu did after their re-releases. "If I was good at prediction, I would have done it nine years ago. I hope that happens," he said.

Opening up about his personal involvement in bringing the film back to theatres, he recalled his passionate efforts: "I was standing below my producer's office screaming my lungs out to bring this film back. I had such an uninhibited approach to this. Many people said that you can't really go to the producer's office and ask him for a re-release, that's unheard of. But this is how I am. if I am into something, I put my skin in the game."
