Matt Sauerhoff, the CEO of The LIV Method, was filmed in a profanity-filled altercation with his neighbor, celebrity chef Eddie Huang, over an unleashed dog at their Manhattan apartment building. The incident took place on Saturday evening in the lobby of The Copper Building in Midtown.

Huang, known for his memoir that inspired the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat, explained that the argument started when Sauerhoff’s dog startled his Doberman, causing them to fall off a bench. Huang requested that Sauerhoff leash his dog, but Sauerhoff refused, leading to a heated confrontation.
The altercation escalated quickly, with Sauerhoff aggressively yelling at Huang, calling him derogatory names, and demanding he leave the property. Sauerhoff also shouted his full name and apartment number, accusing Huang of not being a resident of the building. The argument continued as Sauerhoff told the doorman to remove Huang from the premises.
Following the incident, Huang shared his side of the story on his Substack, explaining that the disagreement was sparked by Sauerhoff’s refusal to leash his dog.
Huang also described a bizarre encounter the next day with Sauerhoff’s mother-in-law, who allegedly made a veiled threat about her husband being a state judge.
Despite attempts to reach Sauerhoff for comment, he has not responded to inquiries. However, a staff member from his gym defended him, praising Sauerhoff as a good boss and the gym as one of the best in NYC.
Huang, who hopes the dispute is now over, said he would prefer if Sauerhoff moved out to avoid further encounters.
