Taylor Swift is reportedly eager to distance herself from Blake Lively’s legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, leading to strain in their decade-long friendship.
The singer, 35, has denied any involvement as a producer on the film, with sources claiming she had “no creative involvement in the film.”
However, some fans are accusing Taylor of being dishonest after resurfaced interviews from the It Ends With Us promotional tour seemingly contradict her statement.
In one interview, Justin Baldoni discusses Taylor’s role in casting Isabela Ferrer, who plays young Lily Bloom.
The interviewer said: “You told me Taylor Swift helped her [Isabela] get the role, like signed off on her audition.”
Baldoni clarified: “I was casting and I had showed her casting tape to Blake and Taylor and they were both like yes her. And that's a true story.”
The reporter then followed up, asking: “And how did you get Taylor to so graciously lend this song that's so pivotal to this movie?”
Baldoni responded: “I had nothing to do with it, this is all Blake. Blake was involved in all aspects of this production and she is also a marketing genius.”
In another interview, a journalist mentioned to Isabela: “Taylor may have had some influence in getting you the role.”
She replied: “Yes she did. I don't even know if I'm meant to be saying it but I'm saying it. She was a helpful part of the process of the audition which I found out later after I got it and that rocks my world.”
During a separate Q&A session, Lively, 37, confirmed Taylor’s involvement by stating: “I mean honestly she was with me on this experience the whole time all through out so she really lived this with me.”
A fan compiled these interview clips into a montage and wrote: “Taylor Swift caught in a HUGE lie. She said she had no part in the casting of this actress for It Ends With Us. Ma'am Justin Baldoni has the receipts.”
Taylor and Blake are reportedly struggling to move past the fallout, with insiders claiming the *Bad Blood* singer has cut off communication with Lively.
Previously, DailyMail.com reported that Swift had distanced herself from the Gossip Girl alum, but sources now suggest their friendship has deteriorated further. Swift allegedly declined an invitation to the SNL 50th anniversary special because Lively was on the guest list.
An insider shared: “Taylor is not communicating with Blake. She was invited to SNL50, but with Blake there – and Kim Kardashian – it was the last place on earth she would be seen.”
