A decomposing body of a man was found from a residential apartment in Defence Phase II on Monday. Police and Edhi volunteers rushed the body to Jinnah Hospital.
The deceased was identified as 55-year-old Asif Raza. SHO Defence said Raza's son reported the incident. The son stated that he, his mother, and sister live abroad, while his father, who had a fatal disease, lived alone in the flat.
Raza's son said he returned to Karachi for his father's treatment, but his mother and sister went to Islamabad for some work. When he couldn't get a response from his father, he informed the police.
Police took custody of the body, which has been sent for postmortem to determine the cause of death.
