Cricket icons Shahid Afridi and Shaheen Shah Afridi were spotted enjoying dinner with their families at a popular food street in Karachi, where they were greeted by a large crowd of fans.
Eager admirers surrounded the duo, taking selfies and photographs with the celebrated players.
Speaking to reporters, Shaheen Shah Afridi shared that it was his first time visiting such a public spot in Karachi. "The people here are wonderful," he remarked, adding praise for the city's cuisine. "Karachiites love spicy food," he noted with a smile.
Shahid Afridi, addressing Shaheen, quipped, "Karachi is Karachi," and emphasised the importance of mingling with the public occasionally.
Commenting on Shaheen's eating habits, Shahid joked, "Shaheen usually eats lamb, but today we made him try Karachi’s famous 'bun kebab'." He further highlighted the importance of fitness for players, saying, "Athletes take their fitness very seriously, which is great. Passing fitness tests is essential for central contracts."
The former captain also urged celebrities to engage more with the public, stating, "We all have a responsibility to showcase Pakistan’s positive image to the world."
On the upcoming Champions Trophy, Shahid Afridi expressed optimism, saying, "I see Pakistan reaching the final."
