DJ Akademiks has responded to allegations of grooming and inappropriate behavior after he and Tory Lanez’s alleged manager, WrittenByRay, were caught making explicit comments to 15-year-old streamer NourGxd during a livestream.
The disturbing interaction, which occurred on a Fortnite stream, saw 35-year-old Akademiks asking sexually explicit questions, including asking NourGxd if he would let another person “f*ck” him, despite the teen’s clear discomfort.

Following the incident, Akademiks faced widespread criticism online, with many condemning his behavior as predatory. FaZe Clan member PlaqueBoyMax, who is a Discord mod for NourGxd, was one of the first to publicly call out Akademiks, urging him to stop making such inappropriate comments and warning his young audience about the dangers of online interactions. PlaqueBoyMax later called the situation “nasty” but chose not to further engage in the controversy.
In a livestream, Akademiks responded to the backlash, claiming that he did not deserve the criticism. He suggested that his actions were misunderstood and explained that he had provided financial and emotional support to NourGxd during a rough time in his life. Akademiks also stated that he didn’t want to continue supporting PlaqueBoyMax, alleging that the FaZe Clan member hadn’t done enough to help the teen.

Despite his attempts to deflect, Akademiks’ comments only intensified the controversy, with many accusing him of downplaying the seriousness of his behavior. He further claimed that fans of rapper Kendrick Lamar were behind the negative reaction, implying that his critics were misinterpreting the situation.
