Actress Lili Reinhart recently revealed her struggle with an eating disorder while filming season six of Riverdale.
In an interview with Self Magazine, published on Jan. 22, the 28-year-old actress shared that her disordered eating and body image issues significantly impacted her mental health and work on set.
“I really don’t like looking at season six imagery or pictures because I know that 99% of my thoughts were about my body,” Reinhart said. “I was completely disassociated during scenes because my entire inner dialogue was just … ‘Your body’s changing.’”
Reinhart, known for her openness about body dysmorphia and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), previously spoke out against societal pressures to conform to unrealistic beauty standards. In a 2023 social media post, she criticized the glorification of extreme thinness, writing, “My body dysmorphia has been going crazy because I feel like my arms need to be half the size they are currently.”
The Hustlers star has also been vocal about promoting body positivity. In 2018, she called out Cosmopolitan Philippines for editing her photos and slammed body-shaming rumors stemming from “unflattering” pictures.
Despite her struggles, Reinhart continues to share her journey toward self-love and encourages others to embrace their imperfections. “My body has carried me through 25 years of life,” she previously wrote on social media. “I wish I could love it more, even when it doesn’t look like it did when I was 20. But I am trying.”
Reinhart’s openness sheds light on the challenges many face in the entertainment industry, inspiring fans to embrace self-acceptance.
