Nadia posts heartbreaking reel of animal abuse on IG

If any showbiz personality can be counted upon to speak up for the plight of animals, it is Nadia Afgan. Taking to her Instagram Stories on Friday, the Suno Chanda actor posted a heartbreaking reel of a young child taking delight in kicking a stray puppy – right underneath the supervision of an adult capturing the moment on camera.

"No media or news channel will show you this," reads Nadia's grim caption.

A dog owner and self-professed animal lover, Nadia has been known to condemn violence against animals on social media. The reel and caption she shares on her Stories relates not just to the outright abuse of a defenceless animal, but also tackles the worrying issue of such behaviour being openly condoned by an adult.

As Nadia has also previously pointed out on her Instagram handle, the problem of animal abuse in the country exists at a grassroots level. Nadia has previously pointed out that until children themselves are not taught to value animals, the problem will continue to perpetuate in a vicious cycle.

Last June, the actor was visibly enraged as she posted a reel in response to a disturbing video she had been sent by an animal shelter depicting the mob culling of stray dogs.

"One man in the video shouted that he would do the same to any person showing any kindness to stray dogs," said a disgusted Nadia. "If any of you know who this man is, please tell me! I can't believe these people are enticing others to follow in their footsteps."

Questioning the ethics of those involved, Nadia rued their lack of moral compass and absence of fear of any consequences. "Aren't you people afraid of God?" she asked several times in her video. "You wonder why bad things happen to you when you can't even follow the teachings of our religion and be kind to a creature who has never done you any harm!"

Nadia urged her followers to educate themselves and their children so that such horrific acts don't seep into the next generation. After imploring her followers to show kindness and love to all animals, she added, "Remember, no animal will ever harm you unless it fears for its life. Teach your kids to not throw stones at any animal. Please educate your children."

As animals, particularly dogs, continue to suffer at the hands of those who show them no compassion, Nadia's stance on animal rights will resonate with anyone who finds such cruelty unbearable.
