Nicole Kidman captivated the audience at the 2025 National Board of Review Gala in New York, where she accepted the Best Actress award for her role in Babygirl. The Hollywood star, 57, surprised attendees by drinking an entire glass of milk onstage, a bold nod to a now-viral scene from the film.

In Babygirl, Kidman plays Romy, a married executive who begins a steamy affair with her young intern, Samuel, portrayed by Harris Dickinson. One iconic scene features Samuel ordering a glass of milk for Romy at a bar, which she drinks as he watches, setting the tone for their power-play dynamics.

During her acceptance speech, Kidman recreated the moment by holding up a glass of milk, downing it in front of the audience, and proudly displaying the empty glass. “The milk and its sensuality became symbolic of the affair itself,” Kidman explained in an earlier interview.

Director Halina Reijn revealed the inspiration behind the scene came from her own life, sharing that a younger man once sent her a glass of milk at a bar, an act she described as “sensual and bold.”

Kidman’s daring performance in Babygirl is widely regarded as her most provocative role yet. She embraced the film’s boldness, stating, “It is exciting and bold, and I am always looking to push out of my comfort zone.”
