Culkin attended the ceremony as a nominee for Best Supporting Actor for his role in A Real Pain, a comedy-drama directed by Jesse Eisenberg about two cousins exploring their roots in Poland. The film also earned nominations for Best Motion Picture — Comedy or Musical.
