Businessman shot over 'transaction dispute'

Police are also getting the CCTV footage from the area.

KARACHI:

Four unknown armed suspects on two motorcycles fired at the vehicle near Nursery Market at Sharae Faisal, injuring a citizen in the vehicle and escaped.

The injured was first shifted to a private hospital and later to Jinnah Hospital, where he was identified as 40-year-old Muhammad Faraz Khan, son of Muhammad Khan.

Faraz is a resident of PECHS Block 6 and runs a hotel business. SSHO Tipu Sultan Inspector Tariq Mehmood told Express Tribune that the firing incident took place over a transaction dispute. Faraz has to take Rs8o to 90 million from someone and he was demanding the return of the money.

Faraz had received threatening messages from unidentified phone numbers. The injured person suffered a gunshot wound to the cheek. Police have recovered three shells of thirty bore pistol from the spot.

Faraz stated that he intends to identify three suspects in the case. Police are also getting the CCTV footage from the area.

A case of firing on a Burns Road trader has been registered against the spokesperson of the Karachi Mayor and PPP's parliamentary leader in KMC, Karamullah Waqasi, at the Tipu Sultan police station.
