Punjab Police has prepared a crackdown on aerial firing and one-wheeling on New Year Night by forming special teams.
IG Punjab has issued orders for strict action against individuals involved in aerial firing and one-wheeling on New Year Night. This year, Punjab Police's crackdown against firing and one-wheeling has continued rigorously, and hundreds of lawbreakers have been arrested during the operation.
According to details, this year, a total of 3,595 cases were registered against individuals involved in aerial firing across the province, and 5,412 people were arrested. 3,865 offenders were convicted, and 2,816 challan cases were submitted.
In the provincial capital, 523 cases were registered against those involved in aerial firing, and 572 individuals were arrested.
Across the province, 3,170 cases were filed against individuals involved in one-wheeling, and 3,365 people were arrested. In Lahore, 1,641 cases were registered against those involved in one-wheeling and 1,569 individuals were arrested.
IG Punjab said that no tolerance will be shown for aerial firing and one-wheeling.
