Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) and Lahore Traffic Police have initiated preparations to link the criminal records database with the e-challan system.
According to officials, this integration will enable traffic wardens to check the criminal history of drivers and vehicles during routine traffic violations.
"By introducing this feature in the traffic challan application, we aim to identify and apprehend individuals involved in criminal activities more effectively," said a spokesperson for the PSCA.
The system, which is currently in the development phase, is expected to help law enforcement agencies reduce crime by identifying offenders at checkpoints.
Officials believe this step will streamline coordination between traffic police and other law enforcement bodies.
