8 terrorists eliminated in two K-P IBOs

Eight terrorists, including a ring leader, were killed on Thursday in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The military's media wing stated that an IBO was conducted in general area of Sararogha, South Waziristan district, following reports of the presence of "khwarij".

"During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location as a result of which two khwarij, including kharji ring leader Khan Muhammad @Khoryay, were killed, while two khwarij were apprehended," the ISPR statement read.

Khoryay was involved in several terrorist activities in the area, including target killing and extortion, and was "highly wanted" by the law enforcement agencies, the statement noted, adding that the government had fixed head money of Rs1 million on the deceased ring leader.

In another IBO conducted in Lakki Marwat district, six terrorists were neutralized by the security forces after "intense exchange of fire," the ISPR statement read.
