4 terrorists killed in North Waziristan

Two engagements occurred in Spinwam of K-P's North Waziristan district, according to Inter-Services Public Relations.

Security forces killed two terrorists while foiling an infiltration attempt from Afghanistan in North Waziristan, the military reported on Sunday. Additionally, two more terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the same district, a day after six terrorists were eliminated in the area.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the military, the two engagements occurred in the general area of Spinwam in the North Waziristan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. It added that two terrorists were also injured in these exchanges of fire.

"An intelligence based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District. During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged khwarij's location and after intense fire exchange, two Khwarij were sent to hell," the statement said.

"In another incident, movement of a group of khwarij, who were trying to infiltrate through Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces. Own troops effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate. Resultantly, two khwarij were sent to hell, while two khwarij got injured."

Earlier, the ISPR said that "six Khawarij terrorists were killed, while six others got injured" in an IBO in Spinwam."During conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged Khawarij's location, as a result of which, six Khawarij were sent to hell, while six other Khawarij got injured," it said.

"Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed Khawarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians," the ISPR statement added.

The ISPR said: "Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area. Security Forces of Pakistan are determined and remain committed to secure its borders and eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country."

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for conducting "the IBOs against Khawarij in North Waziristan" and commended the bravery of the security forces for the successful operations.

According to a press release issued by the President Secretariat Press Wing, the president reiterated the national resolve for a complete elimination of terrorism from the country. "Pakistan's brave security forces will continue operations to eliminate terrorist elements," he added.

The prime minister praised the "officers and personnel of security forces for their successful operation against Fitna-al-Khawarij" in Spinwam, North Waziristan. He also appreciated the professionalism of the security forces.

"We will continue to fight against the spectre of terrorism till its complete eradication from the country," Shehbaz said, according to a separate press release issued by the Prime Minister Office Media Wing. "The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its security forces for the complete elimination of terrorism and those elements who spread anarchy in the country," it added.
