Hundreds of Harry Styles fans gathered in Soho Square, London, to celebrate the “London legend” in a lookalike contest on Saturday afternoon.
The event, organized by west London journalist Katrina Mirpuri, offered fans a chance to impersonate Styles and compete for a £50 cash prize. Mirpuri, inspired by similar events for Timothée Chalamet and Paul Mescal in New York and Dublin, said, “It was time that London should have some fun.”
The competition featured 13 participants judged in categories like best hair, best dressed, best lookalike, and worst lookalike. Oscar Journeaux, a 22-year-old musician from west London band Parla, won the best lookalike prize, sporting a Styles-inspired outfit with a brown leather jacket and scarf. Although fans hoped for a surprise appearance, Styles did not attend the event.
The 30-year-old British singer, who gained fame in 2010 on The X Factor and later became a member of One Direction, launched his solo career in 2016. Styles has also branched into acting, appearing in major films like Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan.
