XO, Kitty season 3 has brought renewed focus to Min Ho’s character development, with actor Sang Heon Lee reflecting on the changes his character undergoes throughout the latest instalment.

The Netflix series follows Kitty, played by Anna Cathcart, and her friends as they approach adulthood during their senior year.

In the new season, Kitty and Min Ho define their relationship and begin dating, while Min Ho also works to establish himself within the music industry, separate from his father’s influence.

Speaking about Min Ho’s journey, Lee said the character reaches a turning point in how he approaches decisions. “I would say he finally found his way of deciding what he really wants,” Lee said. “He finally trusts his heart and sort of leads with it. … I’m very proud of him.”

Lee noted that Min Ho’s personal growth is reflected in how he views relationships, including with his father.

He said the character begins to prioritise those closest to him, including friends and romantic partners, rather than focusing solely on expectations placed upon him.

The season finale sees Min Ho preparing to visit Kitty’s home in Portland, a development Lee described as important for their relationship.

He explained that the shift allows Min Ho to better understand Kitty’s experiences. “Eventually, hopefully, if there’s another season, Min Ho gets to see what Kitty’s life was and sort of have a deeper understanding without actually hearing it from Kitty herself.”

Lee also addressed working alongside Lana Condor, describing her as professional and noting the dynamic on set between cast members.

Looking ahead, Lee said he hopes to see Min Ho graduate and is interested in how a potential fourth season could continue the storyline.
