Gisele Bündchen expecting third child, her first with boyfriend Joaquim Valente

Gisele Bündchen and Jitsu instructor boyfriend Joaquim Valente are expecting their first child together.

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen, 44, is expecting her third child, and her first with boyfriend Joaquim Valente, 35, a source close to Bündchen confirmed to PEOPLE on October 28. 

Bündchen and Valente, who have been dating since June 2023, are "happy for this new chapter in their life and... looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family," the source shared with PEOPLE. This new addition will join Bündchen’s two children, 14-year-old Benjamin Rein and 11-year-old Vivian Lake, whom she shares with ex-husband, retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady.

Bündchen and Valente, a Jiu-Jitsu instructor, were first seen together in November 2022 on a visit to Costa Rica’s Provincia de Puntarenas with her children. The couple initially kept their relationship private, with a source telling PEOPLE in February that “they’re taking it slow” and began as “great friends.” Since her October 2022 divorce from Brady, sources say Bündchen has “blossomed” and feels “secure and happy” in her new relationship.

Bündchen, a former Victoria’s Secret Angel, was notably absent from the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show held on October 15, which saw the return of several past models. Her ex-husband Brady, 47, has another son, John "Jack" Edward Thomas, 17, with his former partner, actress Bridget Moynahan.

Both Bündchen and Brady, who share joint custody of their children, have remained focused on co-parenting. Bündchen, who previously homeschooled her children for three years, maintains a commitment to family amid her evolving personal life.
