Piers Morgan claims that Donald Trump's recent McDonald’s stunt could significantly impact Kamala Harris’ chances in the upcoming election.

Morgan makes the claim in an opinion piece for the New York Post aptly titled ‘Trump’s genius McDonald’s stunt will fry Kamala at the ballot box.’ Morgan argues that the stunt served two key purposes. First, it reminded voters of Harris’s claim that she worked at McDonald’s during the summer of 1983, a job her campaign specified as being at the Central Avenue location in Alameda, California.

However, Morgan points out that no one has been able to verify this, and even Harris’s friends and aides were reportedly unaware of the job. Morgan questions the authenticity of this claim, particularly as it does not appear in her memoir or on her 1987 résumé when she applied for a position at the Alameda County district attorney’s office.

Morgan asserts that this raises doubts about Harris's credibility, especially given her campaign's focus on honesty as an antidote to Trump. He argues that fabricating such a story undermines her "middle-class" appeal to voters.

The second reason Morgan believes Trump’s McDonald’s appearance was so effective is its symbolic connection to the American dream. By working at the fast-food chain, Trump tapped into a shared cultural experience, as millions of Americans, including celebrities like Jeff Bezos and Jay Leno, have had similar jobs. Trump, Morgan contends, cleverly linked himself to this unifying experience, making him more relatable to everyday Americans.

According to Morgan, Trump’s McDonald’s stunt was both daring and effective, allowing him to connect with voters in a way that could prove crucial in the final stretch of the election campaign.
