Who Is Vem Miller? Man arrested at Trump rally amid alleged assassination threat investigation

Police arrested a man named Vem Miller outside a Donald Trump rally in Coachella Valley, California, on Saturday, in what authorities have suggested could have been a "third assassination attempt" against the former president.

Miller, however, denies any intention of harming Trump, asserting his support for the Republican candidate. "These accusations are complete bull****. I’m an artist, I’m the last person that would cause any violence and harm to anybody," he stated.

Miller was arrested without incident and booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center for possession of a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine. He was later released on bail the same day. He is due to appear in court at the Indio Larson Justice Center in January. Sheriff Bianco mentioned that the local investigation into Miller is nearing completion, with potential federal charges to follow.

Miller, described as a 49-year-old Las Vegas resident, has a background that offers a complex picture. His LinkedIn profile indicates that he is an "investigative journalist, documentary filmmaker, and content producer" who has collaborated on projects for major outlets like Netflix and VICE Media.

He has also been involved in producing music videos, working with artists like DMX and Trey Songz. His social media features photos of him with notable conservative figures such as Steve Bannon, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Nigel Farage.

In 2022, he ran as a Republican for a state assembly seat in Nevada's District 13. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that his campaign focused on concerns about voter fraud and supporting initiatives for solar energy and electric vehicle manufacturing. He did not win the election.

Miller, 49, was said to have lived with an older couple believed to be his parents in a rental home on Lavender Heights Court, a cul-de-sac in the Astoria Trails South gated community, before they moved out in 2022. Neighbors told The Post on Sunday that the family allegedly left the property in poor condition.

"I recognize him, but I only saw him once or twice in the years they were there," said one long-term resident who was shown a picture of Miller but preferred to remain anonymous after learning of his arrest on firearms charges.
