Popular YouTube creator IShowSpeed (real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) is set to star in an upcoming anime-style series produced by Brian Robbins’ Big Shot Pictures.

The project marks one of IShowSpeed’s first narrative-driven ventures, with an animated version of the streamer as the central character.

The series will be written by Matt Owens, known for co-showrunning Netflix’s hit anime adaptation One Piece, and Owens will also produce alongside Robbins. Filmmaker and actor Harmony Korine is attached as a producer, adding creative weight to the project. Plot details remain under wraps, but the show aims to bring IShowSpeed’s high-energy personality and global fanbase to an animated format.

IShowSpeed, 21, has more than 52 million subscribers and is recognized for his viral IRL streams, gaming content, music videos, and travel vlogs. He won Streamer of the Year at both the 2024 and 2025 Streamer Awards. “I’ve always loved anime, so being able to create something like this is a dream come true,” IShowSpeed said. “I can’t wait for my fans around the world to see what we’re building together.”

Robbins added, “Speed is a one-of-a-kind creative force whose ability to connect with audiences transcends borders and platforms. We’re excited to help bring his voice and vision to life in a completely new way through this series.”

Big Shot Pictures, launched by Robbins in 2026, has a first-look distribution deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment and plans to develop both animated and hybrid live-action projects, including adaptations of popular children’s books. This IShowSpeed anime series highlights Big Shot’s strategy to expand into global, fan-driven content.
