A resurfaced video of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs from 2020 has reignited questions and concerns regarding a young girl he introduced as his “adopted daughter,” Ava Baroni. The video, which recently gained traction following Diddy's arrest and indictment, shows him introducing Ava as part of his family during an Instagram Live session, referring to her as "Ava Baroni Combs."
Despite Diddy’s claim of adoption, sources close to the situation, including a report from TMZ, have revealed that Diddy never legally adopted Ava. According to insiders, Ava’s parents were close friends of Diddy’s late ex, Kim Porter, and Ava may have spent considerable time with the Combs family, but the connection was never formalized through legal adoption.
The Instagram video, initially thought to be a genuine family moment, was later described as a “skit” that has been misinterpreted by concerned fans. During the live session, Diddy claimed he wanted Ava to have a “Black parent,” likening his actions to other celebrity adoptions, such as those by Madonna and Sandra Bullock. Ava herself shared her backstory, describing a difficult past before being taken in by “Papa Combs.” However, she also clarified that she met Diddy's twin daughters, Jessie and D'Lila, when they were just 6 months old, further cementing her close relationship with the family.
Despite the rumours, sources close to the family say that Ava's biological parents have since distanced themselves from Diddy, particularly in light of his current legal troubles. With Diddy now behind bars awaiting trial, his family, including his seven children, is reportedly in shock over the unfolding events.
