Christians, Muslims celebrate Milad

JARANWALA:

The city witnessed Christian and Muslim communities coming together to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi.

The Christian community joined Muslims in cake-cutting ceremonies, exchanging garlands, and distributing sweets, signifying unity and mutual respect.

The Muslim-Christian Photographers Association held a joint cake-cutting ceremony in Waris Pura, where prayers were offered, and blessings were sought.

A significant moment of interfaith solidarity occurred when Bishop Shamas Pervaiz, along with leaders such as Pastor Kamran, Reverend Joseph Jerard, and Pastor Shahzad Bhatti, visited Pir Muhammad Ibrahim Sialvi, Chairman of the Bain-ul-Mazahib Aman Committee.

The Christian leaders joined the Muslim celebrations, cutting a cake and exchanging sweets to mark the joyous occasion.

The spirit of cooperation extended to local government officials.

Assistant Commissioner Rangzeb Goraya invited both Muslim and Christian delegations for a meeting aimed at fostering peace and harmony in urban and rural areas. The meeting was attended by religious leaders from both sides, including Allama Sikander Hayat Zaki, Pir Abdul Rehman, Pastor Wasif Gill and others.

They also cut a cake to emphasise their commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Bishop of Faisalabad from the main Catholic Church Dr Indrias Rehmat issued a goodwill message, congratulating the Muslim community.
