100 rooms to be built for Sikh pilgrims

LAHORE:

Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora laid the foundation stone for a new building in Nankana Sahib to facilitate Sikh pilgrims on Sunday.

The building will include 100 rooms dedicated to accommodating and providing comfort to pilgrims visiting from around the world.

The provincial minister stated on the occasion that providing better facilities for Sikh pilgrims remained a top priority of the government for ensuring a comfortable environment for them.

The minister also visited Gurdwara Lila Ram and Gurdwara Bhatti Sahib.

During the visit, Sardar Ramesh Singh inaugurated Langar halls in the Gurdwaras to provide free meals to the pilgrims.

He instructed representatives of the Evacuee Trust Property Board to ensure transparency and timely completion of all development projects.

The minister emphasised that the projects would play a crucial role in promoting religious tourism and strengthening the national economy.

He said the Punjab government prioritised the facilitation of pilgrims and respected their religious freedom. He directed all relevant institutions to utilize the available resources to achieve this goal. The chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, members of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and other related officials were also present.
