A special Independence Day ceremony was organised at the head office of Darul Sukoon, an institution for mentally and physically challenged children, by the collaboration of Saddar Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) and Syed Foundation.
Pakistan Olympic Association Vice President Fatima Lakhani, Saddar TMC Vice Chairman Abdul Rahman Motiwala, Municipal Commissioner Noor Hassan Jokhio, Syed Foundation President Syed Waseem Hashmi, Karachi Sports Foundation Chairman Asif Azim, Darul Sukoon CEO Savio Pereira, and a large number of special children participated in the ceremony. The special guests, Fatima Lakhani, Abdul Rehman Motiwala and Noor Hassan Jokhio, mingled with the children and distributed national flags and gifts from Colgate Palmolive and Saddar TMC.
Expressing her thoughts on this occasion, Fatima Lakhani said that without a doubt, the performance of Darul Sukoon is an example at the national level. "I feel very happy to participate in the Independence Day celebrations among these children," she said. Motiwala said that special children are also an important part of our society. Allah Almighty has hidden immense abilities in them too.
Jokhio said that the officials and volunteers of Darul Sukoon are engaged in serving the special children day and night in the spirit of serving humanity, I salute their spirit. Fatima Lakhani gave awards to Motiwala, Jokhio, Rafiq Sheikh, Asim Ali Khan, Mumtaz Sheikh, Hashmi and Pereira in recognition of their social services.
