KARACHI:

A video showing inappropriate and indecent conduct of an investigation officer at Liaquatabad police station has gone viral on social media exposing a culture of impunity within the Sindh Police Department.

The video footage shows the officer, identified as ASI Parvez, taking off his shirt in the presence of two women who were brought to the police station for questioning. The entrenched culture of impunity remains prevalent despite the efforts of the provincial police chief to reform the department.

In this video, the police officer's disregard for professional ethics was evident as he changed his uniform in front of the women involved in a case. The video captures the women's visible discomfort and embarrassment, with both turning their faces away in response to the officer's behaviour.

ASI Parvez had summoned the women to the police station in relation to an ongoing investigation. After the video went viral, District West DIG Irfan Baloch took immediate action and suspended ASI Parvez. He said that such misconduct would not be tolerated and assured that no officer would be permitted to engage in such behaviour.
