A Sikh woman abducted along with her son and kept captive has been rescued.

According to the police, the woman resident of Warispura, submitted a complaint with D-Type Colony police, stating that the suspects, Khurram and Khizar Shehzad Ali, who were friends with her acquaintance Saima, had gained her trust about nine months ago. .

She had sent her son with the suspects from Nankana Sahib to Faisalabad to stay with her brother, but they took hi hostage and blackmailed her.

The suspects called her to Faisalabad, where they also kept her captive and subjected her to sexual assault, the complainant stated.

The D-Type Colony police registered a case against the suspect under sections 376 (punishment for rape), 328-A (blackmail) and 344 (wrongful confinement), and rescued the woman along with her son.

Punjab Minorities Affairs Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora addressed a news conference at the Faisalabad Police Lines along with CPO Kamran Adil and briefed the media on the details of the police action taken after receiving information about the Sikh woman being illegally confined in the D-Type Colony area. The minister said the police had rescued the woman and her son.
