Citizen looted on busy highway

The persistent issue of street crimes in Rawalpindi continues unabated. In a daring daylight robbery in Rasheed Colony, within the limits of Sadiqabad police station, two armed robbers on a motorcycle deprived a man of cash and his mobile phone on a busy highway.

CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced. According to police officials, a case has been registered, and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.

In the footage, a citizen can be seen sitting in his car on a busy highway. Suddenly, two motorcyclists stop him. As the citizen tries to sit inside the car, one motorcyclist enters the vehicle from the driver's seat and the other from the front seat and starts robbing him.

The video shows traffic continuing on the highway and the car horn blaring during the robbery. A passer-by, noticing the suspicious situation, approaches and says something, but seeing the weapon, he gets scared and steps back. Someone shouts from a nearby balcony, causing the robbers to flee in confusion.

The footage shows the car's driver and another citizen chasing the robbers, but they escape after stealing Rs50,000 in cash and an expensive mobile phone from the victim, Zahid Latif.
