
Farmers in the tail areas will hold a protest rallies at various locations on Sunday (today) against the shortage of agricultural water. It is alleged that due to the corruption, mismanagement, and unfair distribution of water, the farmers of the tail areas have reached the brink of devastation.
The irrigation sub-divisions including Nabi Sara, Nokot, and eight sub-divisions of Naraki Nala are worst hit by the shortage of agricultural water. The Tail Farmers Association, will organise a large protest rally starting from Nokot which will be participated by the affected area farmers in large numbers.
The rally passing though different areas will reach Nabi Sara Road where a sit-in protest will be held. Afterwards, participants will proceed to Jhuddo, Daghri, and Tando Jan Muhammad, passing through various areas and reach Mirpurkhas, where a central protest will be held.
The farmers have said that humans and animals are facing severe shortage of drinking water.
