The Republican National Convention, which kicked off in Milwaukee on Monday, might feature an unexpected performance by legendary New York rapper 50 Cent.

According to CNN’s Victor Blackwell, the GOP has scheduled 50 Cent to take the stage, though “plans could still change.”

This move comes after 50 Cent's hit song “Many Men” soared back onto the charts following the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

In response, 50 Cent shared an edited version of his "Get Rich or Die Tryin’" album cover featuring Trump’s face on his body, captioning the image: “Trump gets shot and now I’m trending.”

The possibility of 50 Cent performing at the convention has sparked significant backlash on social media.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, "He’s the perfect fit. His movies and TV shows show black men in the worst possible light as drug dealers and killers. Exactly what the GOP represents us as."

Another user added, "Yet another felon, who can't vote anyways, so his opinion does not matter."

Meanwhile, the GOP's convention, running from July 15-18 at the Fiserv Forum, continues with delegates, politicians, and Republican supporters gathering to see former President Donald Trump accept his party's presidential nomination.

In related news, Trump confirmed on Truth Social that Ohio senator J.D. Vance will be his vice-presidential candidate for the upcoming election.
