Entertainment Weekly has exclusively confirmed that Taylor Swift will not appear in the highly anticipated film Deadpool and Wolverine.
Speculation had been rife among fans regarding Swift potentially portraying the character Dazzler in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, recent reports have clarified that the singer's involvement in the project is non-existent.
The rumors surrounding Swift's role intensified last October when Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman were spotted at a Kansas City Chiefs NFL game alongside the film's director, Shawn Levy, and Swift herself. The presence of Swift, there to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce, led to heightened speculation among fans.
Director Shawn Levy and Reynolds have been ambiguous about addressing these rumors in recent interviews.
Levy expressed regret over not dispelling the rumors sooner, emphasizing that while there is mutual affection between them, discussions about casting decisions are sensitive topics.
In a May interview with Fandango, Reynolds hinted at the unpredictable nature of casting in such films, stating, "Movies like this, there's so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film. I saw one that was convinced Elvis was in the movie."
Reynolds emphasized the element of surprise that defines the Deadpool universe.
While Swift won't be joining the cast, Deadpool and Wolverine promises to deliver excitement with Reynolds and Jackman reprising their iconic roles.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, showcasing returning characters from previous Deadpool installments alongside new surprises for audiences.
