Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel laureate and advocate for girls' education, has reiterated her call for an "immediate and lasting ceasefire" to end the ongoing violence and suffering in Gaza.

In separate posts on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, Yousafzai condemned the conditions faced by children and families in Gaza, stating, "It is unacceptable that children and families in Gaza are struggling to survive and facing these horrible conditions."

The 26-year-old activist highlighted her organisation's work, the Malala Fund, in collaboration with the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF).

She detailed their efforts to provide medical and humanitarian aid to young people in Gaza.

"In October last year, alongside our call for a ceasefire, @malalafund supported Palestine Children's Relief Fund @thepcrf's incredible work, providing medical and humanitarian relief to children and their families," Yousafzai wrote.

She shared photos of volunteers working with children and noted that more than 625,000 children in Gaza are currently unable to attend school, lack access to formal education.

"Living under constant threat of bombardment takes a devastating toll on children’s physical and mental well-being, particularly when they don’t have access to proper care," she added.

Yousafzai praised the PCRF's initiatives, including the Gaza Amputee Project, Medical and Orphan Sponsorships, and the Gaza Pandemic Mental Health Initiative, which provides essential services to help children overcome trauma and receive prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation.

She also highlighted the PCRF's "Treatment Abroad" and "Medical Mission" programmes, which offer urgent medical care and transformative procedures at no cost.

Concluding her social media posts, Yousafzai called on her followers to support and encourage the PCRF, reiterating her plea for an "immediate and lasting ceasefire" to "end this needless violence and suffering" in Gaza.
