Police suspect that multiple people should face charges in connection to Matthew Perry’s unexpected death last October, according to People.

A law enforcement source told the outlet that the federal investigation into Perry’s death is nearing completion, and a decision on pressing charges will soon be made.

Page Six contacted the U.S. Attorney’s Office for a comment but did not receive an immediate response.

Perry, aged 54, died from the “acute effects of ketamine,” which was ruled accidental. His autopsy report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office also cited drowning, coronary artery disease, and the presence of buprenorphine, an opioid, as contributing factors.

The “Friends” star had openly discussed his use of ketamine — a drug for pain relief and depression treatment — in his 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.”

However, he mentioned that he did not enjoy ketamine because it felt like a “giant exhale” that made him feel as if he was “dying.”

Although the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed in January that their investigation into Perry’s death was complete, TMZ reported in May that federal authorities were examining Perry’s ketamine use.

Following his sudden death, Dr. Bankole Johnson speculated to Page Six that Perry had “likely” obtained ketamine illegally for “recreational use.”

“It would be questionable medicine to provide ketamine to someone also using buprenorphine — a true recipe for disaster,”  Dr. Johnson added.
