Whoopi Goldberg accidentally says Donald Trump's name on The View

Whoopi Goldberg attempted to cleanse the sacred aura of The View set after she accidentally muttered Donald Trump's name at the Hot Topics table on Tuesday's episode.

The Oscar-winning actress, who has long vowed to never say the former president's full name on the air, let his name slip during a discussion about the upcoming presidential debate.

"I think it would be remiss of us to not say, Joe Biden knows how to do this. He knows how to do this, he's quite good at this. You can't refute anything with him — when I say him, I mean..." Goldberg trailed off before Joy Behar said "Trump," prompting Goldberg to say "Trump" herself.

Goldberg quickly stopped herself mid-sentence and pretended to spit on the stage, prompting applause from the audience. "Did you say his name?" cohost Sunny Hostin excitedly asked, to which Goldberg responded by playfully accusing Behar of scheming to get her to say it: "I said his name. It was a trick, and it made me do it!"

This marked the second time this year Goldberg said Trump's name during a live broadcast. Earlier in May, Goldberg made a rare Friday appearance on the talk show alongside all of her cohosts, as the panel united to break down Trump's conviction on 34 felony counts.

"Do not adjust your TV set. Yes, I'm here on a Friday because this is a very unique moment in history. That's why we're all at the table," Goldberg said. "I'm going to say something you've never ever heard me say before: Donald John Trump is a convicted felon."
