Shatrughan Sinha elated at daughter Sonakshi's wedding to Zaheer Iqbal

Bollywood legend says her daughter is very happy with the union

Bollywood legend and politician Shatrughan Sinha has expressed his immense happiness following the marriage of his daughter, actress Sonakshi Sinha, to her longtime friend and fellow actor Zaheer Iqbal.

The couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony on June 23, in a modest event that marked the beginning of their new journey together. Following the wedding, the newlyweds hosted a reception in Mumbai, graced by the presence of numerous Bollywood stars.

When asked by an Indian journalist about his feelings on his daughter's special day, Shatrughan Sinha responded, "Is this even a question to ask? Every father eagerly waits for the moment when his daughter marries the right person and starts a new chapter of her life. My daughter looks very happy with Zaheer, and I pray that their bond remains strong forever."

Reflecting on his own marriage, the senior actor added, "Forty-four years ago, I married my chosen partner, Poonam Sinha, a successful, beautiful, and talented woman. Now, it was Sonakshi’s turn to marry the man of her choice."

The intimate wedding ceremony was followed by a grand reception where Bollywood’s finest gathered to celebrate the couple’s union.
