After the 43-year-old "Selfish" artist was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, on Tuesday, June 18, his mugshot was released, prompting social media users to comment on its impressive lighting and turn it into a meme.

Despite the attention, the Sag Harbor Police Department informed PEOPLE that they use a "standard Canon camera" connected to their booking computer, with "no special lighting" involved in the process.

"They got nice lighting at the police station," one Instagram user commented on PEOPLE's post.

On X, many created memes for the mugshot with one comparing the redness in his eyes to one of the penguins in Madagascar.

On June 18, Timberlake faced charges of driving while intoxicated and received two citations: one for running a stop sign and another for failing to stay in his lane after leaving the American Hotel. According to a source, the singer-songwriter was "hanging out with friends."
