Joe Alwyn returns to red carpet after opening up about Taylor Swift breakup

Joe Alwyn stepped out for the New York City premiere of his new film "Kinds of Kindness," marking his first public appearance since discussing his split with Taylor Swift.

Alwyn, dressed in a stylish blue suit, joined his co-stars Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, and others at the premiere. The film marks his second collaboration with Stone and director Yorgos Lanthimos, following their successful 2018 film "The Favourite."

"I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years," Alwyn said in The Sunday Times Style interview.

Alwyn opened up about the challenges of navigating a high-profile breakup, expressing his hope for empathy and understanding from the public. The actor has generally maintained a private life outside of his film promotions, making this candid discussion about his relationship with Swift a rare occurrence.

"Kinds of Kindness," which features Alwyn in three different roles across interconnected storylines, is his first feature film release since the breakup. It hits theaters on Friday, June 21.
