PESHAWAR:

The health department has established a formal control room at the health directorate to handle any untoward situations and ensure the provision of health services during the Eidul Azha holidays.

Control rooms will also be set up at the district level. Instructions have been given to assign all medical staff to three shifts in these control rooms, and orders have been issued to display the duty roster of the staff prominently in all hospitals.

Orders have been issued to autonomous hospitals, along with those under the health department, to make arrangements in the emergency departments. According to the announcement, during Eid, all hospitals, especially those in tourist areas, will have certain medical staff working in three shifts instead of taking holidays over the three-day Eid period.

These staff members will be given holidays after Eid.

Medical superintendents of hospitals and district health officers have been instructed to maintain a stock of essential medications for saving lives and keep machinery operational in emergencies. Emergency control rooms will be set up at the district level where, besides ordinary patients, patients showing symptoms of Congo virus, etc., will also be reported to the health department immediately upon arrival at hospitals.

In this regard, government hospitals will remain connected with their respective district emergency control rooms, while all district-level centers will be linked with the health directorate’s emergency control room directly.

The names and mobile numbers of those who will be on duty in hospitals during Eid are to be displayed on the notice boards of hospitals, and this duty roster is also instructed to be shared with the Health Directorate.
