King Charles showed deep emotion at his annual birthday parade.
The monarch, undergoing cancer treatment, departed Buckingham Palace in a carriage with Queen Camilla. Following medical advice, the King, 75, conducted the Trooping the Colour review from the Ascot Landau carriage, a departure from his horseback participation last year.

As the King and Queen took in the sights, Charles made a touching admission to Camilla, saying, "Oh dear, I don't know why I'm feeling rather tearful," according to lip reader Nicola Hinckley.
Despite the rain, Charles smiled and waved at the crowds along The Mall, maintaining high royal spirits. Princess Kate, 42, followed in a carriage with her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Earlier, at Windsor Castle, Charles praised the Irish Guards, presenting new colours to Number 9 and 12 Companies, acknowledging their efforts during the Covid pandemic.
