Kim Kardashian faces backlash for allegedly upstaging daughter North West

Kim Kardashian is facing backlash from fans who accuse her of attempting to upstage her daughter, North West, following her recent performance in a live rendition of *The Lion King*. The controversy arose when the 43-year-old reality TV star posted photos of herself in an outfit strikingly similar to the one her 10-year-old daughter wore during her performance as Simba at the Hollywood Bowl in May.

North, whose father is rapper Kanye West, performed as young Simba in a screening of ‘The Lion King’ that featured live musical numbers. The event included appearances by original ‘Lion King’ stars such as Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, and Ernie Sabella. North's rendition of "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" went viral, attracting both praise and criticism on social media.

"You couldn't let your daughter have a moment; you had to wear it too," commented one infuriated Instagram user. Another fan remarked, "Why can't she ever let anyone have their moment? Always wants to outdo the original." Some fans speculated that Kim's outfit choice was a deliberate attempt to draw attention away from North's performance. "Let's make it about me," one poster suggested might have been Kim's mindset.

North's performance received mixed reviews online, with some social media users mocking her singing abilities and labeling her as an undeserving "nepo baby." One user suggested that Kim had orchestrated North's participation for business reasons, stating, "So you didn't care that your daughter couldn't sing; this was just business I assume."
