Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for season 4 of "The Witcher," giving fans their first glimpse of Liam Hemsworth in the iconic role of Geralt of Rivia. The short trailer features Hemsworth leading a horse through a dark, misty forest, sporting Geralt's signature long blonde hair and a brooding expression.
Hemsworth takes over the role from Henry Cavill, who announced his departure from the series in October 2022. Cavill offered a glowing endorsement of Hemsworth as his replacement, expressing confidence in his ability to embody the complex character. Hemsworth, in turn, expressed his excitement and acknowledged the big shoes he has to fill.
While some fans have expressed concerns about the transition, Freya Allan, who plays Ciri, hopes that viewers will give Hemsworth a chance to make the role his own.
The Witcher, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's books, follows Geralt, a monster hunter, as he navigates a world filled with magic and danger. He forms a unique bond with Yennefer, a powerful sorceress, and Ciri, a princess with a mysterious destiny.
Season 3 concluded with Cavill's final appearance as Geralt, and season 4 is currently in production, with a fifth and final season already confirmed. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt expressed her excitement about bringing the series to a satisfying conclusion while pushing the characters to their limits.
