On a recent episode of 'The View,' Robert De Niro delivered a scathing critique of ex President Donald Trump, echoing sentiments of deep-seated disdain.
The celebrated actor, appearing alongside Whoopi Goldberg to promote their new film 'Ezra,' engaged in a heated discussion that quickly shifted towards his views on Trump.
De Niro expressed confusion over Trump's past interactions with media and celebrities, including Rosie O'Donnell. "I used to see these things, I didn't understand how he and Rosie O'Donnell used to get into it," De Niro remarked.
He described Trump as "a hateful, mean-spirited, awful thing," emphasizing his vicious nature.
The discussion further intensified as co-host Sunny Hostin probed De Niro about his feelings towards Trump. The actor did not mince words, suggesting Trump's demeanor and actions were damaging to the social fabric.
"He's vicious," De Niro stated, adding that Trump's behavior towards a bystander at one of his rallies was indicative of his character. "Why will he not do that in this country? He's already done it. When I said I want to punch him in the face, it's because of what he said to a bystander at one of his rallies. He wants to punch them in the face. You don't talk that way to people. What kind of person does that?" he explained.
De Niro's commentary reached a peak when he alluded to what he perceived as Trump's detrimental impact on America, though his exact words were censored during the broadcast. "It's almost like he wants to do the worst that he could possibly do to show this country..." he said before being cut off.
