Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have issued their first statement since their charity, Archewell, faced a setback.
The non-profit organization, established by the Sussexes in 2020, received a delinquency notice from the California State Attorney General's office on May 3.
Despite this development, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared unfazed as they discussed their recent trip to Nigeria in the statement released on Tuesday.
Reflecting on their three-day visit on the Sussex website, they expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and support extended by Nigerian officials and the community.
Prince Harry and Meghan concluded their message by thanking all involved for their hospitality and marking the trip as the first of many memorable journeys.
Prior to departing for Nigeria, they received notification of their charity's delinquent status in a letter from the California State Attorney General.
The letter outlined restrictions on the Archewell Foundation, which is now unable to engage in activities requiring registration, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds.
According to reports by People Magazine, the charity has taken steps to rectify the situation by reissuing paperwork.
It is expected to resume operations within seven business days, pending the successful receipt of the necessary documentation.
