Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones to lead Disney’s animated film ‘Hexed’
Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones headline Disney’s ‘Hexed', a new animated film unveiled at CinemaCon 2026

Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones have been confirmed as the lead voice cast in Hexed, a new original animated feature from Disney.
The announcement was made during the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas.
The upcoming film, directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, is scheduled for release on November 25. It centers on a teenage girl named Billie Doe, voiced by Steinfeld, and her highly organized, Type-A mother, voiced by Jones. The story follows their discovery that Billie’s unusual traits may actually be magical powers, leading them into a hidden world of magic that disrupts their everyday lives.
Footage shown at CinemaCon offered a first look at the film’s tone and style. One scene featured Billie undergoing a personality test conducted by a talking book and quill, both speaking in British accents, as they introduce her to a mysterious magical realm. The preview highlighted a mix of humor, fantasy, and coming-of-age themes.
Hexed is produced by Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones, with Jared Bush serving as executive producer. The project adds to Disney’s expanding slate of original animated films aimed at family audiences.
With a high-profile voice cast and an original storyline, Hexed is positioned as one of Disney’s key animated releases for late 2026, following other major announcements made during the studio’s CinemaCon showcase.
