Drake Bell Says Josh Peck Reached Out After Abuse Revelation; Former Co-Stars on Path to Healing

Drake Bell says his former co-star Josh Peck offered private support after Bell went public about his abuse.

Drake Bell recently shared on social media that his former "Drake & Josh" co-star, Josh Peck, reached out privately following Bell's allegations of abuse in the documentary "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV".

Fans had been criticizing Josh on social media for his silence after Bell revealed his abuse allegations.

In the documentary aired in the third week of March, Bell accused Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck (no relation to Josh) of sexually assaulting him in the early 2000s.

Drake Bell and Josh Peck starred as teenage stepbrothers in the Nickelodeon series "Drake & Josh" (four seasons and two movies from 2004 to 2008). Peck did not participate in the "Quiet on the Set" project.

Investigation Discovery's "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" delves into the troubling work culture at Nickelodeon. The documentary features interviews with former and current employees discussing Dan Schneider, the creator behind hits like "The Amanda Show," "Victorious," "iCarly," and more.

Shockingly, the host reveals that a beloved child actor from the network was sexually abused on set by acting coach Brian Peck. This actor is then unveiled as Drake Bell, star of the iconic "Drake & Josh" series.

 

Drake revealed struggles with his mental health and sobriety, citing DUIs and harmful behaviors stemming from feeling lost. This follows his 2021 conviction for attempted child endangerment and disseminating harmful material to a minor. Drake received probation and community service due to inappropriate text messages sent to a teenage girl in 2017.

While taking responsibility for his actions, Drake criticised the media's portrayal of the case, claiming misinformation had a devastating impact on him.

He further shared that this period spurred him to seek treatment saying, "If I had continued down that path, that could very likely be the end of my story. I was at rock bottom...I checked into treatment...and be surrounded by people who...wanted to just see me get better."
