Tribeswomen protest against power outages

Protesters said that there was shortage of drinking water due to load shedding in district

In yet another first in the history of the highly conservative Khyber tribal district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, womenfolk took to the streets to protest against the unscheduled power loadshedding on Thursday.

They gathered outside the Jamrud Grid Station led by woman councilor Wagma Afridi and blocked the Pak-Afghan highway for all kind of vehicular traffic.

The protesters said that there was a shortage of drinking water due to the load shedding in the district. Chairman Shahid Zaman, Mian Jan and Hussain Zada were also present on this occasion.
