Dense winter fog brings road travel to a standstill

Airlines have suspended flight operations from Lahore, Multan and Sialkot due to dense fog. A spokesperson for a private airline warned of operational challenges in due to low visibility and intense fog and added that flights to and from Lahore, Multan and Sialkot may face cancellations, changes, or delays due to the conditions.

During this season, fog disrupts air operations in these cities, posing difficulties for aviation activities, the spokesperson added. Passengers were urged to obtain information about their flights from the airline directly before heading to the airport, considering potential disruptions due to fog.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) issued an alert regarding the intense foggy conditions in the city, emphasizing the implementation of precautionary measures for driving in urban areas.

Visibility has been reduced to only a few meters in various parts of Lahore, including Mall Road, Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, Jail Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Qaid-e-Azam Interchange and Gajumata. The Safe City Spokesperson instructed citizens to adhere to precautionary measures while driving, including keeping headlights on low beams and ensuring the use of fog lights and indicators.
