Raids are under way to arrest the kidnappers

OKARA:

A child who was kidnapped for ransom within the limits of B Line Police Station was rescued within an hour by police on Thursday. Raids are under way to arrest the kidnappers, who are allegedly the maternal uncle and cousin of the victim.

DPO Mansoor Aman took notice and formed a team under the supervision of DSP Meher Yousuf upon report of the missing child.

The police received information that 13-year-old Atif, a resident of B Line area, had been abducted. The suspects demanded a ransom numbering in the hundreds of thousands for the release of the victim. DSP Meher Yousuf and SHO B Division Police Station Fakhar Watto were given the task of safely recovering the child and arresting the suspects.

Using modern technology and forensic techniques, police rescued the kidnapped Atif within an hour. During this time, the abductor of the kidnapped child and the boy’s cousin, Obaid, had escaped. Police are conducting raids to arrest them.

According to SHO Fakhar Watto, initial investigations revealed that the mother of the kidnapped child had recently received gratuity money and the boy’s uncle and cousin allegedly kidnapped Atif to take this money.
