A woman who was set on fire by her husband and mother in law in Ichra earlier this week succumbed to her injuries.
The victim, Faiza Liaqat, was undergoing treatment at hospital. The victim married Asad around two years ago and the couple had a son.
Earlier this week, she returned to her parents’ home after a dispute with her in-laws. However, she returned home after reconciling with her husband and his family.
On September 17th, Asad and the victim’s mother-in-law, Uzma Bibi, allegedly set the victim on fire.
She sustained burn injuries and was admitted to hospital for treatment, but succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. Police arrested the suspects and were investigating the matter further.
