Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, as part of an ongoing crackdown, arrested 41 illegal Afghan immigrants during snap checking at Hub town checkpoint on Mondaty morning.
The Afghan nationals, including men, women and children, were entering Karachi from the Balochistan border town of Hub. The Rangers officials said that 25 people were found to have expired Afghan resident identification cards, with addresses of Balochistan towns and 16 others had no proff of residence in the country. These people were taken into custody for failing to produce identification documents.
Meanwhile, the Karachi police in its on-going operation against illegal immigrants arrest 39 Afghan nationals from Central district on Monday.
Earlier 45 Afghan immigrants were arrested from different areas of Korangi, East police arrested 23, West zone 34, City police nine, Malir police 14 and South zone police arrested two Afghan immigrants. Additionally, police arrested nine foreign citizens from Firozabad, nine from Mobina Town, and 12 from the vicinity of Shah Latif Town, and registered cases against them under the Foreign Act.
The police claim that for the past two years, all Afghan nationals have been working covertly in Karachi.
